Accident claims life of area man

<p class="p1">A Murphysboro man was identified as the victim in a single-vehicle traffic accident which happened last weekend in Union County.</p><p class="p1">Illinois State Police District 22 at Ullin identified the victim as DeMarcus R. Huddleston, 25.</p><p class="p1">State police reported that the accident appeared to have happened sometime on Saturday, Dec. 12. </p><p class="p1">A passing motorist reported a car off the roadway at 7:18 a.m. Saturday.</p><p class="p1">The car was spotted along Illinois Route 127, 0.5 of a mile north of Aldridge Road.</p><p class="p1">State police reported that the 2013 model passenger car was traveling north on Route 127. </p><p class="p1">The car failed to negotiate a curve and struck a tree. The driver was ejected from the vehicle.</p><p class="p1">State police said that the accident may have involved alcohol. An investigation was continuing.</p>
