Aileen M. Meadows

<p class="p1">Aileen Meadows, 92, of Cairo, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014, at Summerlin Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada while residing with her daughter Carmen in their winter home.</p><p class="p1">She was born on Jan. 23, 1922, in Vienna, the daughter of William and Georgia McCown.</p><p class="p1">She married Carmon Alton Meadows on Jan. 12, 1940. He preceded her in death on July 5, 2005.</p><p class="p1">She was a faithful wife and full-time mother to her four children. She was an avid reader, homemaker, an excellent cook and member of the Las Vegas Ladies Tea Society.</p><p class="p1">She supported her favorite charities, including Exodus/Faithrunner Ministries. She had a good sense of humor and she was respected by the many who knew her.</p><p class="p1">She is survived by her sons, Phillip Meadows and Donald E. Meadows; daughters Carmen Comollo and Annie Meadows-Tibone; grandchildren Tony V. Anderson, Christopher Alton Meadows, Carmen Anderson Hardy, Tyler Brown Meadows, Timothy Meadows (deceased), Taylor Meadows, Tiffany Meadows; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She also is survived by a lifelong best friend, Ruth (Clifford) Billingsley, and Kathy Walsh, who was like a third daughter.</p><p class="p1">She attended Mighty Rivers Baptist Church (Cairo Baptist Church) in Cairo, taking part in Bible studies and events, while being faithful to St. Patrick's Church, during her yearly time of residing in that area.</p><p class="p1">Graveside services were Tuesday, Jan. 6, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery in Mounds, with Dr. Larry Potts and Father Chris Mujule officiating.</p><p class="p1">To leave online condolences, visit www.crainsonline.com or contact Annie Meadows at www.anniemeadows.com.</p><p class="p1">Crain Funeral Home in Cairo was in charge of arrangements.</p>
