Allen D. Laminack
Allen D. Laminack, 65, of Lick Creek, died at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017, at his home.
He was born on Aug. 14, 1951, in Anna, the son of Vernon and Norma Swafford Laminack.
He married Rita Mowery on Sept. 18, 1976, at Cedar Grove Church.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Rita Laminack of Lick Creek; one daughter, Tammy Bonifas of Elgin; two sons, Shannon Laminack of Lick Creek and Simon (Kasey) Laminack of Dongola; grandchildren Andrew Laminack, Devin Laminack, Trent Laminack, Peace Lynn Perrilloux, Rebecca Laminack, Ryleigh Laminach and Eli Laminack; two brothers, Leon (Jan) Laminack of Bourbonnais and Grover (Sheary) Laminack of Cambria; one sister, Margie Laminack of Dongola; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Lick Creek and was the song leader for many years. He was a strong Christian man and his faith in Christ saw him through the toughest of times. He worked for the Anna Tree Nursery for 37 years, retiring as foreman. He loved gardening and enjoyed the outdoors. He served in the U.S. Navy.
Funeral services for Mr. Laminack were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, at New Hope Baptist Church in Lick Creek, with the Rev. Mike Miller officiating. Interment was in Ebenezer Hall Cemetery.
Graveside military rites were conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post No. 3455 of the VFW in Anna and the Navy funeral honor detail.
