Animal rescue program announces Jan. 9 clinic

Cache Creek Animal Rescue announces the opening of its low-cost spay/neuter clinic on Jan. 9. 

With the donation of an ambulance, Cache Creek Animal Rescue will become the first mobile spay/neuter clinic in Southern Illinois. 

The current clinic will be located at 6535 Lick Creek Rd. in Buncombe, but until the program moves its shelter and permanently open its doors, inquiries are to be directed to the shelter at 1235 Spanish Bluff Rd. near Anna.

Cache Creek Animal Rescue also announces the hiring of Dr. Nancy Kucera. 

She has 31 years of veterinary experience at Meller James and Associates in Anna.

Cache Creek Animal Rescue is working towards stopping the influx of unwanted animals at the pounds and shelters in Southern Illinois. 

Cache Creek Animal Rescue accepts animals from animal rescue shelters and pounds, as well as from families meeting the financial requirements. 

Cache Creek Animal Rescue has been in existence for two years and rescued 906 animals in the year 2011. 

They travel to the Joliet area two to three weekends a month to do adoptions at Petco. During December they adopted 114 animals.
