Anna Arts Center members of cast for 'Peter Pan'

<p class="p1">The Anna Arts Center production of "Peter Pan" has been cast.  </p><p class="p1">Early in Act I, Peter is quoted as telling Wendy, John and Michael Darling,  "Come with me, I have a place where dreams are born and time is never planned." </p><p class="p1">This is the beginning of the adventure taking the children to that special place, Neverland. </p><p class="p1">Peter introduces them to the lost boys, a tribe of Indians, led by Tiger Lily, and a band  of pirates led by  Captain James Hook, who is pursued by a crocodile.</p><p class="p1">Performances are set for Friday, Feb. 20, at 7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 21, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 22, at 2 p.m.   </p><p class="p1">Tickets are $10 per seat and will be sold only at the box office beginning  Feb. 9 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. </p><p class="p1">The  cast is as follows:  Mr. George Darling and Captain James Hook will be played by Ricky Borders and R.L. Pete Housman.  </p><p class="p1">Mrs. Mary Darling  will be played by Elizabeth Corbit.  Debby McKibben will play the pirate Smee.  </p><p class="p1">Portraying the Darling children are Wendy, Bethenie Nork and Grace Rueter, John, John Bird and Michael and Zachary Finstad.</p><p class="p1">Peter Pan will be brought to life by Morgan Bunch and Meghan Smith.  </p><p class="p1">Tinker Bell will be played by Jadden Brimm and Raegen Cook.  </p><p class="p1">The leader of the Indian tribe, Tiger Lily, will be Molly Redman and Cadence Ross.  </p><p class="p1">Liza, the Darlings' human maid, will be portrayed by Sarah Gentry.  </p><p class="p1">A guest live dog will be seen as Nana. </p><p class="p1">The form of double casting gives more people a chance for lead roles as well as covering the possibilities of illness.</p><p class="p1">The lost children are Caitlin Ames, Rielle Edwards, Madi Hawk, Olivia Myers, Jossilin Needling, Jessi Riley, Marlee Smith, Trinity and Evan Sweet, Kiersten  and  Megan Wright, and Anthony Jimenez.   </p><p class="p1">The Indians are Alli Bigler, Aleah Box, Mackenzie Clark, Haley Davis, Caroline and Madelyn Hansen, Alexis Hansil, Britany Hill, and Kenzie Stover.   </p><p class="p1">The pirate band's members are Callysta Borders,  Brinley and Natilyn Corbit, Kiley Dailey, Evelyn Eddings, Lindsay M. Hill, Jada Hinson, Matti Houseman, Reece Reynolds, Alizabeth Stanley, Anthony Mareski and Kenny Swink. </p><p class="p1">The production is directed by Shawnee Community College student Cody Acklin.</p><p class="p1">Ellen Spalt of Cobden will be the set designer.  Cindy Wright of Lick Creek is supervising costumes.  </p><p class="p1">Lynn Steveson of rural Anna is functioning as production assistant.  </p><p class="p1">Other staff will be added as rehearsals get more fully under way. </p><p class="p1">Director Cody Acklin has had inquiries and wants the public to know that the arts center is  not doing the Disney Peter Pan. Instead, they are  using the original Broadway production script.</p><p class="p1">The enthusiasm produced by the mostly young cast could be seen by all, as the lost children, Indians and pirates began  rehearsals.  </p><p class="p1">One pirate, Alizabeth Stanley, 4th grader, expressed her feelings on her audition application when asked why she was auditioning for the show. She said,  "I was amazed and dazzled when I watched the "Annie Jr.” play.  I thought; I want to do that!"</p>
