Anna Christmas celebration set

A new holiday celebration is scheduled to make its debut this weekend in Anna.

Christmas in Downtown Anna is planned from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26.

The celebration is being planned by representatives of local groups and organizations.

At 6 p.m. Saturday, the lighting of a community Christmas tree is planned. The tree will be on display outdoors at Anna-Jonesboro National Bank in the heart of downtown Anna.

Here's a look at what's being planned on Saturday:

Main Street

Down Home Do-Dads, write letters to Santa, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The Brick House Grill, dinner served in a Christmas atmosphere.

Anna-Jonesboro National Bank, lighting of Christmas tree, 6 p.m.

Mac & Jenny's Pizza, pizza and specialty subs for lunch and dinner.

This-n-That, holiday season shopping.

WIBH radio, 9 a.m. to noon, Share a Hug big white bear raffle to benefit Union County Cares.

Southern Real Estate, gingerbread house contest. Entries due by Friday, Nov. 25

326Productions, Santa Claus arrives at 4 p.m. and goes to the Christmas tree lighting at 6 p.m. Pictures with Santa will be taken by TD Photography from 4 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Christmas singing with Steve Hornbeak and guest. Bake sale by the Friends of the Theater, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

TD Photography, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Christmas sessions; then pictures with Santa from 4 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.

<strong>Davie Street</strong>

Anna Arts Center, holiday bazaar, shopping, music and more, 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Enchanted Garden, unique gifts, Christmas items.

<strong>Freeman Street</strong>

The Davie School Inn, open house and gift shop, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with live music by Matt Weyand and Friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

<strong>Food Drive</strong>

Nonperishable food item donations will be accepted at 326Productions and the Anna Arts Center. Donations will benefit local food pantries.
