Anna Council vacancy tabled

Plans to fill a vacancy on the Anna City Council have been tabled until December.

The issue was on the agenda at Tuesday evening's regular meeting of the city council.

The vacancy was created by the recent resignation of city council member Cindy Swope.

Anna Mayor Steve Hartline previously had indicated that he would make a recommendation to fill the vacancy at Tuesday night's meeting.

The vacancy was one of the topics discussed in a closed session which was held at Tuesday's meeting.

After the closed session, Hartline said the matter was tabled until next month.

Seven men and women have expressed an interest in being appointed to the post.
