Anna police report recovery of stolen items

The Anna Police Department reports that a  number of items which allegedly were stolen during a recent series of break-ins which occurred in the Union County community have been recovered.

Anna Police Chief Dale Foster said this week that an investigation into some of the break-ins has been extended to Carbondale.

Multiple break-ins have been reported which involved vehicles, residential locations and storage units in east Anna.

Foster said that five male subjects from Anna were apprehended Sunday night in Carbondale in connection with incidents in the Jackson County community. The five suspects include four juveniles and one adult.

The suspects taken into custody in Carbondale also may have been involved with recent vehicle break-ins which happened in Anna.

The Anna police chief reported that a local man was considered to be a suspect connected to the residential break-ins.

Foster said that as of early this week, it had not been determined if the various break-ins were all connected.

Computer equipment, tools and money were among the items which have been stolen.

Local residents who may have been victims of the thefts are invited to come to the Anna Police Department to see if they can identify some of the items which have been recovered.

Visits can be made from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
