Anna School District 37 Boosters' efforts appreciated
To the editor,
Anna Community Consolidated School District No. 37 faculty, staff, administration, and board of education would like to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of the Anna Indians Athletic Booster Club during the 2010-2011 school year.
Thanks to their efforts, sports programs that were cut or affected, due to budget cuts, have been restored.
Games were restored to baseball and softball, boys and girls varsity and junior varsity basketball, varsity cheerleading, and volleyball.
In addition, the 5th and 6th grade boys and girls basketball and cheerleading programs were also restored.
Without the tireless effort of Booster Club volunteers, student programs would have suffered at the hands of our state government.
To all who have volunteered, and to all who have so graciously donated (too many to mention individually), District 37 is certainly grateful.
We look forward to another year of working together, all the while hoping that our state legislature will somehow find a way to stop wasting money and effectively fund all schools.
Sincerely, Mark Laster, District 37 principal
