<p class="p1">The Illinois Department of Transportation, <a href="http://www.dot.state.il.us/" target="_blank">IDOT</a>, the Illinois State Police, <a href="http://www.isp.state.il.us/" target="_blank">ISP</a>, and local law enforcement planned to begin efforts over the long Thanksgiving weekend, and continuing throughout the holiday season, to keep roadways safe and traffic fatalities on a pace for the lowest total since 2009. 

Alto Vineyards is scheduled to feature two Southern Illinois art and cultural events. Alto Vineyards is hosting a fun Holiday Splash and Dash, where participants will be painting a pair of wine glasses on Thursday, Dec. 4 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Lisa Hicks, Cobden High School art teacher, will be the painting guide to help participants create a unique set of festive wine glasses. All of the paint and supplies, including the matching wine glasses, are included in the $35 admission.
