No injuries in house fire

<p class="p1">No injuries were reported in the aftermath of a fire last week which caused major damage to a house east of Anna.</p><p class="p1">The fire was reported at 11:49 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 715 Jimtown Loop. The Anna, Dongola and Jonesboro fire departments responded to the call.</p><p class="p1">The house, a one-story frame structure, sustained extensive fire, smoke and water damage.</p><p class="p1">Firefighters were at the scene for about four and a half hours. </p>

Goldie Petraitis

Goldie Petraitis, 89, of Anna, died at 9:50 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014 in the Union County Hospital in Anna. She was born July 16, 1925 in Monessen, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Joseph and Barbara Sector Chuck. She married Bruno Petraitis in June of 1971 in Crown Point, Indiana. He preceded her in death on Jan. 12, 1988.

She is survived by her son, Raymond Hamerla of Anna; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bruno Petraitis; one sister, Mildred Goins; and one brother, Joseph Chuck Jr.
