Art works by Walter, Jahn featured

A dual exhibit by Adolph W. Walter III and his daughter, Barbara Walter Jahn, will be featured in Anna Arts Center’s Gallery Room through Dec. 30.

The arts center is located in the former Anna city hall/police/fire station building along West Davie Street in Anna.

Adolph’s paintings are primarily oils and watercolor.

A lifelong Anna resident and World War II Army veteran, Adolph graduated with a degree in geology from University of Illinois, but has spent his life as a business man, first with Walter Hardware in Anna and then as a Kentucky Fried Chicken franchisee.

When he retired in 1985, he and his wife, Peggy, traveled the world; however illness ended the globetrotting in 1993, so Adolph traded his camera for pencil and brush.

Barbara Jahn is an Anna native who has lived in Medellin, Colombia, since 1989.

Barbara’s primary medium is textiles.

Anna Arts Center is located at 125 W. Davie St. Hours Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., and by appointment, call 697-6285
