Assistance appreciated

To the editor,

We’d like to express our deep appreciation for the assistance we received on the morning of Saturday, Dec. 5.  

Early that morning (the coldest of the season) we were awakened to a knock on our door.  

One of our neighbors (unfortunately, we don’t know his name) stopped to let us know our electric pole was on fire. 

We called the Southern Illinois Electric Cooperative, and within a very short amount of time, Mr. Lamar Huston was at our house to assess the problem. 

He called in the blown transformer, and the on-call linesman quickly came and replaced the transformer. 

We experienced almost no inconvenience due to the professionalism of the SIEC employees.

We are very grateful for the kindness of our neighbor and the rapid response of the people at Southern Illinois Electric Cooperative.  Thank you to all involved.
