Auditions scheduled for upcoming events at Anna Arts Center

The Anna Arts Center in Anna is planning to present four shows during 2013.

Auditions already have been scheduled for two of the productions.

Performances are scheduled to include:

“The Stories of the Blue and Gray,” Feb. 9-10.

“You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” Feb. 22-24.

“Little Shop of Horrors,” May 17-19.

“Cabaret,” Nov. 8-10.

Tickets for the productions are $12 each in advance and $15 at the door.

A season pass for all four shows is $45.

The arts center’s box office is scheduled to be open from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday starting Jan. 7.

Auditions Planned

Brian Caraker, the director of performing arts at the Anna Arts Center, reports that auditions are planned Saturday, Jan. 5, for two of the upcoming shows.

Auditions will be at the arts center.

Auditions for “Stories of the Blue and Gray” are planned from 9 a.m. to noon.

“Stories of the Blue and Gray” will be performed Feb. 9-10 during a Civil War Weekend at the arts center.

Roles are available for more than 15 adult men, more than five adult women and three to five children ages 10 and older.

Those who plan to audition will be asked to read from the script. Those who sing are asked to prepare a classic patriotic song.

“You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” is scheduled to be presented Feb. 22-24. Auditions for this production are planned from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The arts center will be casting for the roles of Charlie Brown, Lucy, Sally, Linus, Schroeder, Peppermint Patty, Marcy, Pigpen and Snoopy.

The age for lead performers is 16 and older.

Casting also is planned for a small group of children ages 7 to 10 for two dance numbers with Snoopy.

Callbacks are scheduled at 4 p.m. Saturday for lead roles.

Those who audition will read cold from the script. They also will be asked to prepare a song from the show. Karaoke tracks are best, but a pianist will be available.
