Be sure to vote
Even though it seems like we just celebrated the Christmas holiday season, an election is just around the corner.
No, the holiday season and an election aren't really connected, it just seems like one is following rather closely after the other.
Union County voters have an opportunity to go to the polls on Tuesday, Feb. 2, to cast ballots in a primary election.
Yes, there will be opportunities next Tuesday to select candidates who will face off in the November general election. Make your choices, and may the best person for the job win.
Union County voters also will have opportunities on Feb. 2 to decide the outcomes of three tax issues which are on the ballot.
Voters in the Lick Creek School District are being asked to help boost funding for their school's educational programming.
In Anna, voters are being asked to approve a measure which would generate financial resources for projects which otherwise might not be affordable in the budget.
And in a countywide issue, voters are being asked to approve a proposal to generate funding for construction of a new Union County courthouse.
Each proposal has its own special merits, and we hope voters will give careful consideration and thought as they prepare to cast their ballots next Tuesday.
No matter how you may feel about the candidates and the issues, be sure to have your say on Election Day. Go to the polls on Tuesday, Feb. 2.
