Brenda Mae Hutchison

Brenda Mae Hutchison, 59, went home to her Lord and Savior Saturday morning, Nov. 20, 2010, at 9:45 a.m. at Southeast Missouri Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. 

She was born Nov. 25, 1950, in Vienna, Illinois, to Douglas Deryl Wright and Rettie Mae (Lauderdale) Wright.

Brenda is survived by two sons and one daughter, Donald Kelso of Cobden, Ill., David Kelso of Graceville, Fla., and Stephanie Bridges and her fiancé Michael Barfield Jr., of Okawville, Ill. 

She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Daniel and Edward Kelso of Wetaug, Ill., Codi Bridges, Elijah Smith and Katheryn Barfield of Okawville,, Ill., Mariah Kerley of Cobden Ill., and Jena Dawn, David Wayne and Nathan Michael of Mt. Vernon, Ill. 

Brenda is also survived by four brothers, Kenny Wright of Florida, Roy Wright of New Hampshire, Ronnie Wright of Ohio and Danny Wright of Kentucky and six sisters, Glenda Faye Noe of Illinois, Mildred Howard of Missouri, Marsha Dillow of Missouri, Martha Sievers of Nebraska, Teresa Hansil of Illinois and Lori Driver of Kentucky; and a special friend, Keith Simmons of Tennessee.

In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her grandparents, Douglas B. and Edith Wright and Roy and Allie Lauderdale; three brothers, Donald Wright, Walter Wright and James R. Wright (who also passed away on November 20, 2010 just hours prior to Brenda.)

Brenda had worked as a CNA for 24 years. She loved helping the elderly and anyone else that she could. She liked to “adopt” kids and grandkids as her own. She loved her flowers and researching family history.

Brenda fought as long as she could but the Lord needed a new angel, so she left this world. Now, she can listen to her favorite bird, the whippoorwill, every night.

A joint funeral service for James Wright and Brenda Hutchison was held Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 24, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Pastor F.M. Speakman and Bro. Enloe Clemons Sr. officiated.

Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in the Rock Community in Pope County, Illinois.
