Carol Gene Prieb

<p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;">Carol Gene Prieb, 78, of Jonesboro, formerly of Douglas, MI died at 12:45 PM on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Heartland Rehab in Cape Girardeau.</span></strong></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;"> </span></strong></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;">Carol was born on March 9, 1933 to Roy William and Gertrude Grace (Gifford) Shields in Chicago. She was united in marriage to Charles Robert Prieb. He preceded her in death on October 9, 1989.</span></strong></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;"> </span></strong></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;">Her love was dogs and horses. She was a member of the English setter Association of America, Douglas Garden Club, Alpha Phi Sorority, PHOBA, US Trotter Association, and Douglas Presbyterian Church of Douglas, MI.</span></strong></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;"> </span></strong></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;">Carol is survived by her only daughter, Margaret Anne and husband Paul Gaines; former son-in-law, Lanny Dillavou; 3 grandchildren, Lanny Dean Dillavou, Jr; Garrett Carlyle Walker Dillavou and Hailey Grace Gaines.</span></strong></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;">She is preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Carlyle Walker Dillavou.</span></strong></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;">Services will be at a later date in Douglas Cemetery in Douglas, MI.</span></strong></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;">Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements.</span></strong></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;">Memorials may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association and may be mailed to the funeral home at 135 W. Vienna, Anna, IL 62906.</span></strong></p>
