Cecile Schlenker

Cecile Schlenker, 97, of Anna, passed away at 8:05 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, 2016 at her home with her family. She was born May 3, 1918 in Anna, the daughter of William Harrison and Carrie (Wray) Sadler. Cecile married Leasol Owen Schlenker on Sept. 30, 1933 in Cairo, to this union, five children were born. Leasol preceded her in death on Aug. 25, 1981.

She is survived by her two sons and daughters in laws, Ralph (Wilma) Schlenker of Albert Lea, Minnesota, Donald (Pat) Schlenker of Jonesboro; three daughters and sons in law, Mary Lee (Jerry) Anderson of Marion, Sharen (Larry) Pickel of Jonesboro and Kathie (Jerry) Landrum of Anna; seven grandchildren, Sandra (Larry) Fisher of Alberta Lea, Minnesota, Scott (Alisha) Schlenker of Anna, Lisa Anderson of Wichita, Kansas, Steve (Melodie) Anderson of Marion, Eric Pickel and Carrie Pickel  both of Jonesboro, Bret (Shelia) Neighbors of Buncombe; one granddaughter in law, Pam Schlenker of Jonesboro; ten great-grandchildren, Sheena Norris, Ronald Walh Jr., Shaunee Fisher, Garret Fisher, Kim Schlenker, Brandon and Brittany Schlenker, Michael and Sarah Anderson, and Leasol Owen Pickel; eight great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Ray Sadler of Jonesboro; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Cecile was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leasol Owen Schlenker in 1981; granddaughter, Karen Schlenker Walh in 1998; grandson, Donald Earl Jr. in 2000, three brothers, Carl, Eugene "Snooks" and infant Earl Sadler; and two sisters, Imogene Ward and Connie Keller.

She was a member of the Anna Heights Baptist Church and attended regularly until her health failed. Cecile was a homemaker and then retired from Florsheim Shoe Company.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Joe Aldridge officiating. Interment was in the Casper Cemetery in Anna. Memorial contributions may be made to the Casper Cemetery. Envelopes will be available in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
