Children’s Memorial Day ceremony set

In observance of National Children’s Memorial Day, a candlelight ceremony is planned at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12, at the Cobden School.

National Children’s Memorial Day recognizes families who have lost a child.

Those who plan to attend are asked to bring a photograph of the child who will be remembered and a candle.

The ceremony will include reading, music and remembering children. A balloon release is planned. Refreshments will be served.

Organizers ask that community members light a candle at 7 p.m. on Dec. 12 to remember children who have died.

Those who want to have a child’s name read at the ceremony, who want to speak, who have a song they would like played or need directions can call 893-2979 or 893-4980 for more information.
