Clarence “Jack” Lilly

Clarence “Jack” Lilly, 77, of Oraville, died at 7:15 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011, at the VA Medical Center in Marion.

He was born on July 6, 1934, in Woodpeck, W. Va., the son of Stennie Caperton and Goldie Myrtle Agnes Griffith Lilly.

He married Virginia Rinehart on Nov. 30, 1956, in Arlington, Va. She preceded him in death on May 11, 2006.

Mr. Lilly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid hunter and he liked music and playing guitar. During their life together, he and Virginia liked dancing.

Mr. Lilly made his home at the Community Living Center at the VA Medical Center in Marion during his final years and was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by three daughters, Jackie (Dan) Gulley of Valier, Sheila Rae of Oraville and Alisa Caraker of Henderson, Nev.; one son, Ray Lilly of Carterville; three grandchildren; two sisters, Sylvia Lilly and Lou Ann (Charles) Loveday, both of Cool Ridge, W. Va.; and one brother, Stennie B. “Johnny” (Jackie) Lilly of Lewisburg, W. Va.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia (Rinehart) Lilly; his parents, Stennie and Goldie Lilly; one granddaughter, Amanda Gulley; two brothers, Kenneth and James Lilly; and one sister, Helen Oakes.

Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 30, at 11 a.m. at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Tony Sena officiating.

Friends can call Thursday, today, from 5 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.

Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery near Dongola.
