Clyde C. Meadows
Clyde C. Meadows, 101, of Dutch Ridge, died at 7:07 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.
He was born on Feb. 11, 1908, in Orchardville, the son of Tilden and Mary Waller Meadows.
He married Cleo Eliza Outlan on Aug. 26, 1933, in Jonesboro. She preceded him in death on April 21, 1982.
Mr. Meadows is survived by eight children, Juanita (Sammy) Farris of Carbondale, Kathy (Shawn) Stearns of Carbondale, Karen (Terry) Reese of Carbondale, Steven (Sherry) Marks of Carbondale, David (Christina) Marks of Carbondale, John (Vivian) Marks of Alto Pass, Joe “Porky” Marks of Pomona and Julia Kay (Gary) Vaughn of Goreville; 24 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Cleo Meadows; and his brothers and sisters.
Mr. Meadows was a member of the Dutch Ridge Baptist Church and he was baptized in Pomona. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team.
Funeral services for Mr. Meadows were at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at Dutch Ridge Baptist Church in Dutch Ridge with the Rev. Cliff Waller officiating. Interment was in Hagler Cemetery north of Alto Pass.

Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Alto Pass was in charge of arrangements.
