Cobden, Shawnee both fall in first round at Sesser-Valier
Cobden and Shawnee both lost in the first round of the Sesser-Valier Holiday Tournament in high school boys’ basketball Monday, Dec. 27.
Chester 67, Cobden 47:The Yellowjackets pulled ahead 15-10 after one quarer and 34-23 at the half.
Rob Lehr had 17 points to lead the Appleknockers. Tyler Lewey added 13 points, Bo Gearhart 7, J.C. Chapman 4, Nathan Sweitzer 3, R.G. Millis 2 apiece and Austin Flamm 1.
Sesser-Valier 89, Shawnee 41: The Red Devils led 28-12 after one quarter and went on a 29-7 run in the second quarter to build a 57-19 lead at the half.
Ty McMahan scored 12 points to lead the Redskins. Andrew Livesay added 9 points, Cage Shelton 7, Adam Pennington 6, Brandon Pind 5 and Gavyn Ellet 2.
