Conceal, carry law supported

State Rep. Brandon Phelps, D-Harrisburg, said he is continuing to push for passage of House Bill 462, the Family and Personal Protection Act.

The measure would allow conceal and carry permits for Illinois firearm owners.

House Bill 462 would authorize county sheriffs to issue permits to carry concealed firearms to citizens who are at least 21 years of age.

Applicants are required to complete specified training requirements.
