Dongola finishes 1-2 at Chester tournament

Dongola finished 1-2 recently at the Chester tournament in high school boys’ basketball action.

Dongola 49, Elverado 39: Austin Hinkle scored 23 points to lead the Demons in the tournament win Saturday, Jan. 14.

Tyler Eddleman added 10 points, Brock Patterson 6, Jordan Eads and Darius Schauer 4 each and Uriah Holmes 2.

The Falcons led 10-9 after one quarter and 18-13 at halftime. The Demons made an 18-10 run in the third quarter to take a 31-28 lead heading into the final quarter.

Marissa-Coulterville 63, Dongola 51: Eddleman led the Demons in scoring with 14 points in a loss to Marissa-Coulterville Thursday, Jan. 12.

Hinkle and Eads added 13 points each, Patterson 6 and Schauer 5.

The Meteors led 16-11 after one quarter and 28-25 at halftime. Marissa led 41-34 after three quarters.

Saxony Lutheran 66, Dongola 46: Saxony pulled ahead 26-9 after one quarter on their way to the win Tuesday, Jan. 10.

Saxony led 42-29 at halftime and 60-37 after three quarters.

Hinkle scored 23 points to lead Dongola. Eads added 11 points, Eddleman 8 and Patterson 4.

Dongola is 8-7 overall.
