Dongola set to host SEC tournament

Dongola will host the South Egyptian Conference high school boys’ basketball tournament Jan. 17-21.
Meridian is the top seed in the tourney, followed by Egyptian, Century, Dongola, Shawnee, Cobden and Joppa.
First-round games will be played Tuesday and Wednesday.
Tuesday, Jan. 17, Dongola will play Shawnee at 7 p.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 18, Egyptian will play Joppa at 6 p.m. and Century will play Cobden at 7:30 p.m.
The top-seeded Meridian Bobcats have a first-round bye.
The tournament will continue Thursday, Jan. 19 and will conclude Saturday, Jan. 21.
On Saturday, Jan. 21, the fifth place game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m., the third place game will begin at 4:30 p.m. and the championship game will begin at 8 p.m.
