Election results for Union County
Just over 6,700 Union County voters cast ballots in Tuesday's general election.

Proposed Amendment
Voters were asked to decide the fate of a proposed amendment to the 1970 Illinois Constitution.
The amendment would provide for the recall of the governor.

Federal Election
Illinois voters selected a U.S. Senator in Tuesday's election.
Voters cast ballots for a full six-year term and for an unexpired term.

State Senate
Two candidates were on the ballot for state senator from the 58th Legislative District:

Two candidates were on the ballot for state representative from the 115th District:
Charlie Howe, Green, 536.

County Election
Voters elected a Union County clerk, treasurer, sheriff and commissioner Tuesday.
Democrat Bobby Toler Jr. was the only candidate on the ballot for county clerk. He received 5,406 votes.
Democrat Bobby G. Myers and Republican Darren M. Bailey were on the ballot for county treasurer. Bailey tallied 3,852 votes to 2,715 for Myers.
Democrat David E. "Buff" Livesay was the only candidate on the ballot for sheriff. He received 5,636 votes.
Democrat John Garner and Republican Dale Russell were on the ballot for county commissioner. Russell received 3,661 votes. Garner received 2,719.
Democrat Brian Moreland was a write-in candidate for county commissioner. He received 10 votes.
Union County Referendum
Voters were asked to decide whether or not to increase the number of county commissioners from the current three to five.
Voters approved the proposal, which received 4,059 yes votes and 2,279 no votes.
Educational Service Region
Republican Janet Ulrich was the only candidate on the ballot for regional superintendent of schools for Alexander, Johnson, Massac, Pulaski and Union counties. She received 5,305 votes in Union County.
Judicial Circuit
Voters decided whether or not to retain three judges: Thomas M. Welch, William G. Schwartz and W. Charles Grace.
