Eloise Bean

Eloise Bean of Anna died on her 91st birthday at 11:33 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, at Prairie Living in Carbondale.

She was born on Nov. 7, 1922, in Cobden, daughter of Herman and Myrtle Caraker Yates.

She married Oel L. Bean on July 5, 1942. He preceded her death on Nov. 26, 2002.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Anna, Delta Theta Tau Sorority, the Sewing Club and the ONO Bridge Club. She and her husband owned and operated Bean Jewelers in Anna from 1965-1986.

She liked entertaining family, friends, her clubs and groups from her church.

She is survived by her daughter, Shirley (Jim) Harris of Anna; son, Jim (Wanda) Bean of El Paso, Texas; two grandsons, Treg (Lauri) Harris of Indianapolis, Ind., and Matt Harris of Pompano Beach, Fla.; two granddaughters, Chelle (Allen) Weedon of Perth, Australia, and Marci (Brandon) Jackson of Houston, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Emily and Keely Harris, Emma Horn, Piper Eloise Weedon and Ryker David Jackson; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Herman and Myrtle Yates; her husband, Oel L. Bean; and two infant siblings.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro with Pastor Larry Shacklee officiating. Interment was in the Anna City Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to the First Baptist Church of Anna Lottie Moon Mission Fund and the Carmi Baptist Children's Home.
