Emergency services on agenda

Emergency services matters were on the agenda at a recent meeting of the Cobden Village Board of Trustees.

The board approved the allocation of $280 to send four firefighters to the Illinois Fire Service Institute Winter Fire College.

The village has been informed that the county has received grant funds for emergency storm warning radios. A list of vulnerable households has been developed. Those households are being contacted to see about receiving one of the radios.

The village also has been informed that the county has received grant funds for the upgrade of fire and police radios. The village is expected to receive reimbursement for the radios.
