Fires damage house, destroy mobile home
A mobile home was destroyed and a house sustained major damage as the result of two separate fires which happened during the past week in Union County.
No injuries were reported as the result of the two incidents.
The mobile home fire was reported at about 10:15 p.m. Sunday. The mobile home was located at 170 Miller Ln., just east of Anna.
The Anna and Jonesboro fire departments responded to the call. The mobile home was owned by David Miller.
Several people who were in the home escaped. The cause of the fire had not been determined. Firefighters were at the scene until about 1:30 a.m. Monday.
A fire was reported at about 8:48 a.m. last Friday at the Rob Furlow residence along Toledo Cemetery Road north of Cobden.
The Cobden and Alto Pass fire departments responded to the call.
Cobden Fire Chief Jeff Nance said the blaze appeared to have started in a utility room at the house.
The house sustained major damage. The cause of the fire had not been determined. Firefighters were at the scene for about two hours.
