Frances M. Warden

Frances M. Warden, 77, of Mound City, died at 1:10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born on Dec. 27, 1932, in Mayfield, Ky., the daughter of John Davis and Mary Bradley Hudson Davis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jack Davis; and by two sisters, Dorsie Mae Keesee and Helen Fitzgerald.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post No. 2649 in Cairo. She was a retired cook with 21 years of service with Meridian School District No. 101 in Mounds.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Lillard “X” Warden of Mound City; a daughter, Skeeter Harrell (Jimmy Aberts) of Mounds; a son, Jim (Vicki) Warden of Mound City; a brother, James (Sarah) Davis of Mound City; a sister, Bea Koen of Paducah; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

At her request, there were no services and cremation followed.

Memorials can be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital in St. Louis.

Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge was in charge of arrangements.
