Friends of Stinson project provides books to children

ibrary Book in Every Home project for December donated more than 400 books to local schools and other organizations.

The donations included 125 books to Anna Head Start, 117 books to Anna Rural Health, 50 books to the Cobden pre-kindergarten program, 25 books to Dongola Pre-K, 40 books to Jonesboro Pre-K, 20 books to Lick Creek Pre-K.

Also, 40 books to Lincoln Pre-K, 14 books to the kindergarten class at Shawnee Elementary North school at Grand Tower and 11 books to the kindergarten class at Shawnee Elementary South school in McClure.

The Book in Every Home project has been an annual event sponsored by The Friends of Stinson Library since December 2002.  

A total of 5,510 books have been donated since the start of the program.

The Friends of Stinson Library voice appreciation to library director Lisa Livesay, library staff and volunteers of Friends for their assistance with the project and to the community for its support.
