Gail Richard Brown

Gail Richard Brown, 79, of Jonesboro, died at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at his home in Jonesboro.

He was born on April 6, 1933, the son of Fred L. and Agnes E. DuRall Brown.

He married Shelby J. Barker on Oct. 9, 1959, in Cobden.

He is survived by his wife, Shelby J. Brown of Jonesboro; one son, Kenneth E. Brown of Anna; one daughter, Deborah (Daniel) Placek of Jonesboro; three grandchildren, Jonathan, Elizabeth and Sarah Jo Placek; one brother, Revis M. (Jean) Brown of Jonesboro; one sister, Barbara B. Lair of Jonesboro; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Dale Brown; an infant sister; an infant brother; and his parents.

He was a member of the Lockard Chapel Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with the Rev. Jack Richardson officiating. Interment was in Jonesboro Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to TIP Hospice or to Lockard Chapel Baptist Church.

Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro was in charge of arrangements.
