George E. Fitch
Mr. George E. Fitch, age 89 of Anna, formerly of Wolf Lake, died at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2013 in the Union County Hospital in Anna. He was born January 15, 1924 in Makanda, the son of Edwin Bryden and Effie Lockard Fitch. He married Geraldine Hess on July 10, 1945 in Osceola, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on February 19, 2011.
George is survived by his daughter, Nancy (John) Blandford of Red Bud; one cousin, Jim (Patricia) Fitch of Detroit, MI; nieces and nephews, Sam (Betsy) Hess of Anna, Dianna (Denny) Wilson of Dongola, Derrel (Janet) Whiteside of Thompsonville, Kathy (Steve) Lay of Ozark; great nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Geraldine Fitch.
George was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Anna. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. George was a farmer for many years and drove a bus for the Shawnee School District for 41 years.
Funeral services for Mr. George E. Fitch will be at 12:00 noon on Friday, November 15, 2013 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Pastor E. James Rivett officiating. Interment will be in the Anna City Cemetery. Graveside military honors will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna and the Illinois Army National Guard Military Honors Team of Marion. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 12:00 noon at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
