Geraldine Fisher, 84, of Dongola, died at 5:07 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at Jonesboro Health Care Center.
She was born on Jan. 13, 1927, in Dongola, the daughter of Will and Mary Ellen Cook Baker.
She was married on April 12, 1946, to James Fisher. He preceded her in death on July 11, 1987.
Mrs. Fisher was a member of First Baptist Church in Dongola and was retired from Choate Mental Health Center in Anna.
Survivors include two sons, Donald Ray (Janice) Fisher of Goreville and Kevin Lee Fisher of Dongola; three daughters, Janice (Bob) Stanley of Dongola, Marilyn (Steve) May of Marion and Beverly D. (Gregory Lynn) Gengenbacher of Herrin; six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lucille Dale of Dongola and Violet (John) Degroate of Channahon; one brother, Fred (Betty) Baker of Wolf Lake; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola with the Rev. Paul Sadler officiating. Interment was in the American Legion Cemetery.
