Gertrude J. Hughey

<p style="line-height: 150%;" class="MsoNormal"><strong style="">Mrs. Gertrude J. Hughey, age 87, of Anna, died at 9:50 a.m. Monday, December 20, 2010 at the Anna Rehab and Nursing Care Center in Anna. She was born July 1, 1923 in Seventy-Six, MO., the daughter of John B. and Catherine J. Meyer Schneier. She married Willard Lester Hughey on October 12, 1946 in Shawneetown, MO. He preceded her in death on May 4, 1991.</strong></p>

<p style="line-height: 150%;" class="MsoNormal"><strong style=""><span style="">           </span> Gertrude is survived by four daughters, Kay Cramer of Independence, Mo., Carolyn (Bruce) Nagel of Anna, Patricia (Don) Knupp of Slidell, LA., and Kathy (Walter) Vaughan of Simpsonville, SC.; two sons, Robert (Cheryl) Hughey of Carbondale, John (Kim) Hughey of Anna; eleven grandchildren, Ray, Mitch and Mark Cramer, Jeff and Steve Hudgens, Donnie and Dan Knupp, Chris Hughey, Trey Vaughan, John C. and Evan Hughey; several great-grandchildren; one brother, John (Ginny) Schneier of Hazelwood, Mo.; one sister, Mary Ann (Kim) Stewart of Tuscon, AZ.; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willard; two sisters, Betty Carter and Florence Jenicek; two brothers, Paul and William Schneier; three infant siblings; and one step-daughter, Doris Hughey.</strong></p>

<p style="line-height: 150%;" class="MsoNormal"><strong style=""><span style="">           </span> Gertrude was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Anna. She owned and operated the Anna Fabrics Store in Anna for many years, also helping her husband to farm.</strong></p>

<p style="line-height: 150%;" class="MsoNormal"><strong style=""><span style="">           </span> Funeral services for Mrs. Gertrude J. Hughey, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 23, 2010 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Anna, with Rev. Robert Heimgartner officiating. Interment will be in the Anna cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna and from 9:30 a.m. and until the funeral hour Thursday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Anna. <span style=""> </span>Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer’s Association. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.</strong></p>
