Gladys Sharp Richardson
Gladys Sharp Richardson, 90, of Vienna, died Friday, Dec. 25, 2009 at 1:15 p.m. at the home of her daughter in Anna.
She was born on Sept. 29, 1919, near Vienna, the daughter of Chesley Sharp and Pearl Shoemaker Sharp.
She married Robbie Richardson in 1939 at Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death on March 24, 2009.
Survivors include her children, Robert Joel and Elaine Richardson of Edwardsburg, Mich., Darlene Louise and Ralph Glasford of Anna and James Earl and Birgit Richardson of Vienna; nine grandchildren, Shane Richardson, Mike Burgess-Richardson, Michelle Richardson, Melanie Reid “Pumpkin”, Robin Sullivan, Gena Grey, Niko Richardson, Chris Barnes and Jim Richardson; nine great-grandchildren, William Sullivan, Ashley Sullivan, Keisha VanHuffle, Britney Reid, Chad Reid, Trevor Richardson, Logan Burgess-Richardson, Bradley Reinier and Joshua Reinier and 12 great-great-grandchildren
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Russell Eugene Richardson; a granddaughter, Sonya Rene Glasford Reinier; a great-grandson, Cody Reid; and two sisters, Lucille Mitchell and Virginia Murphy.
She was a homemaker. She had been employed as a certified nurses aid at Hillview Health Care Center in Vienna for a number of years.
She was a member of the Faith Harvest Assembly Church in Vienna. She liked flower gardening, needlework and handcrafts and was a dedicated Bible student.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Dec. 29, at 2 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna with the Rev. Larry Barnhart officiating.
Burial was in Gilead Cemetery near Simpson.
