Grand jury indicts woman on meth charges

A Union County woman has been indicted on methamphetamine charges.

Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds reported the indictment was handed down against Teresa J. Henson, 45, formerly of 506 N. John St. in Jonesboro.

A Union County grand jury indicted Henson on three counts of aggravated participation in methamphetamine production, all Class X felonies, and one count of possession of methamphetamine, a Class 3 felony.

Henson is alleged to have engaged in the manufacture of methamphetamine in a public housing unit on Dec. 5, 2011, at a time when a child under the age of 18 was present at the residence.

An investigation was conducted by the Jonesboro Police Department and the Union County Drug Task Force after reports of an explosion and fire at the residence on the evening of Dec. 5.

Henson is being held on $50,000 bond.

Her arraignment was set for Tuesday morning, Jan. 17, in Union County Circuit Court in Jonesboro.
