Holiday programs planned at area schools

Holiday season programs are scheduled to begin this weekend at Union County public schools.

Here's a look at the schedule of events, by school:

Lick Creek School: A holiday program is set for 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13.

The school also plans to host a Scholastic Book Fair that night.

Cobden Elementary School: A program presented by students in kindergarten through 5th grade is set for 12:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20. The program will be in the Cobden High School gymnasium.

A beginning band program is set for 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19.

Cobden High School: A band and choral concert is set for 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8.

Anna School District 37: Four programs are scheduled during the holiday season. All of the programs will be at Davie/Anna Junior High School. The schedule of events includes:

Pre-kindergarten/kindergarten: 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12.

Junior high: 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12.

Lincoln Elementary School: 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17.

Davie Elementary: 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17.

Jonesboro School: A program is set for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17.

Anna-Jonesboro Community High School: A Christmas concert is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10.

Shawnee School District: Three programs are scheduled.

A junior-senior high school concert is set for 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15. The concert will be at Shawnee Junior-Senior High School at Wolf Lake.

A holiday program is set for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, at Shawnee Elementary North school in Grand Tower.

A program is scheduled at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at Shawnee Elementary South school in McClure.
