A-J’s Heath finishes season with 35 victories

Anna-Jonesboro Community High School’s Daniel Heath lost in first-round action at the state wrestling tournament at Champaign Friday, Feb. 18.

“It’s a different level up there,” A-J wrestling coach Rick Bittle said. “He just didn’t wrestle well.”

Heath, wrestling in the 112-pound bracket, lost by a decision in quarterfinal action to Wilmington’s Andy Rodewald, 12-5.

Heath, who finished the regular season 35-5 overall, became the third A-J sectional champion in school history. A senior, he advanced to state two years ago when he was a sophomore.
