A-J outscores Chester
Jordan Adams and Brady Wright scored 16 points apiece and pulled down 4 rebounds each to power Anna-Jonesboro to a 75-48 win over visiting Chester in Southern Illinois River-to-River Mississippi Division Conference high school boys’ basketball Friday, Jan. 8.
J.R. Woodward added 14 points and 6 rebounds for A-J.
Tylor Duckworth had 14 points and 6 rebounds. Travis Smith had 5 points and 4 rebounds.
Cody Livesay and Jacob Brimm had 4 points apiece, Jesse Webb and Nick Bound 3 each and Jordan Kern and Gabe Pecord 2 each.
The Wildcats were ahead 28-8 after one quarter and 53-19 at the half. A-J led 69-35 going into the final quarter.
The Wildcats were 24 of 40 in shot attempts from the field, 5 of 20 from 3-point range and 12 of 17 from the free throw line.
The Yellowjackets were 15 of 35 in shot attempts from the floor, 2 of 11 from 3-point range and 12 of 16 from the free throw line.
A-J, which improved to 8-7 overall and 1-3 in the conference, is scheduled to play Friday at home against Du Quoin.
