A-J rallies for win over Massac County
Anna-Jonesboro trailed early but came back to post a 58-45 win over Massac County in the quarterfinals of the Eldorado holiday high school boys’ basketball tournament Monday, Dec. 28.
The Wildcats trailed 8-0 at the outset and were behind 10-2 until back-to-back 3-pointers pulled A-J to 17-12 at the end of one quarter.
A-J fought back to pull to 26-23 at the half and pulled ahead 43-39 headed into the final period.
The Wildcats outscored the Patriots 15-6 in the final quarter.
Brady Wright had 14 points and 7 rebounds to lead A-J. Jordan Adams, who had three 3-pointers, added 13 points.
Jacob Brimm added 10 points, Gabe Pecord 7, Tylor Duckworth 4 and Travis Smith 3. J.R. Woodward had 7 points and 6 rebounds.
The Wildcats were 14 of 29 in shot attempts from the floor, 7 of 17 from 3-point range and 9 of 11 from the free throw line.
The Patriots were 11 of 31 in shot attempts from the field, 5 of 14 from 3-point range and 7 of 13 from the charity stripe.
