Jerod Schaefer completes Army basic, AIT training
U.S. Army PV2 Jerod S. Schaefer graduated from basic training on Sept. 16, 2010, and AIT training on Dec. 6, 2010, all at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
Schaefer received training which consisted of basic military training and advanced individual training, AIT.
During his basic training, Schaefer learned first aid skills, field training, physical fitness, map reading, tactics, basic rifle marksmanship, instruction in drill and ceremonies, and military customs and courtesies.
During AIT, he received instruction in horizontal construction engineer and was trained in all earth moving equipment.
He is now stationed at Fort Hood, Texas.
He is the son of Jon and Bev Schaefer. He has a brother, Jacob.
He is the grandson of Dee and Sharon Toler and Jim and Wilma Schaefer, all of Jonesboro.
He graduated from Anna-Jonesboro Community High School in 2009.
