Jerry Lee Westbrook
Jerry Lee Westbrook, 69, of New Paris, Ohio, and formerly of Union County, died Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009, in New Paris, Ohio.
He was born on June 7, 1940, in Anna, the son of Floyd A. and Vesta Campbell Westbrook Sr.
Mr. Westbrook had worked at Gear Works in Richmond, Ind., and Power Train in New Paris, Ohio.
He was a U.S. Army veteran who served from 1963 to 1965 in a transportation unit and was an expert sharpshooter.
Mr. Westbrook was a member of the American Legion’s Clarence Teaford Post No. 360 in New Paris, Ohio.
Mr. Westbrook is survived by his wife of 41 years, Barbara J. Steele Westbrook; daughters and sons-in-law, Cindi and Scott Coddington of Fountain City, Ind., and Debbie and Bill Abney of Richmond, Ind.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Floyd and Brenda Westbrooks of Metropolis and Richard and Karen Westbrook of Cobden; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bonnie and Jerry Holman and Lydia and Jeff Williams, both of Cobden; grandchildren Katelyn Coddington and Cody Coddington; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, at Barnes Funeral Home in New Paris, Ohio, with chaplain David Garman officiating.
Interment was in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris, Ohio.
Full military graveside honors were presented by the Preble County, Ohio, honor guard.
