John Lewis Tarr Jr., 46, of Anna, died at 12:10 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014 in the Anna Rehab and Nursing Center. He was born March 28, 1968 in Oil City, Pennsylvania, the son of John Lewis Sr. and Charlotte Rose Fento Tarr. He married Lea Taormina on Sept. 7, 2000 in Pleasantville, Pennsylvania.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lea Tarr of Anna; father, John Lewis Tarr Sr. of Oil City, Pennsylvania; step-son, James Lee Smith of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Christopher Smith of Metropolis, Rusty Smith, Bam Vincent Smith, Morgan Joe Smith all of Dongola; one brother, Greg Tarr of Oil City, Pennsylvania; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother.

He proudly served his country as a Combat Engineer in the United States Army. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and working as an official flagman at the H.B.R. Racetrack.

Funeral services were at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2015 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Paul Mayberry officiating. Interment was in the Mound City National Cemetery. Graveside military rites was conducted by Area Veteran's and the Illinois National Guard Military Honors Team of Marion. Memorial contributions may be made to the Family. Envelopes will be available in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
