Jonesboro Rehab Center honored at ceremony

The Jonesboro center was honored along with key members of all of the more than 90 skilled nursing, supportive, assisted and independent living facilities Petersen Health Care owns and operates in Illinois, Iowa and Missouri.

The day included presentations, motivational speakers, team building and entertainment. 

A donation was made to the St. Jude Midwest Affiliate in honor of Chloe Petersen, the daughter of Petersen Health Care owners Mark and Vicki Petersen, for $24,634.71.

Awards were presented for facility of the year, most improved facility, special dedication awards and many others, recognizing Petersen Health Care employees for their hard work and dedication.

Administrator, Norma Spurlock said Jonesboro Rehabilitation & Health Care Center was recognized for its achievements at the annual banquet by winning, recognition in “Overall Best Medicaid PRD Increase, most improved accounts receivable, most improved census for medium facility, most Med-A admissions for medium facility and first place fewest and best complaint surveys. 

“Jonesboro Rehab & Health Care has the best residents and staff in the state, and when you have the best it is not hard to get recognized for providing good care and treatment," Spurlock said in a news release.

Spurlock said many improvements have been made in the 19 months she has been the administrator, and plans are in the making to make more.

Jonesboro Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is a skilled nursing facility with a potential capacity of 77 serving the residents of the seven southernmost counties in Illinois since 2005.

Jonesboro Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is located at 995 State Route 127 South in Jonesboro.

 Sharon Lilly is the director of nursing and Sally Betts is the community relations coordinator.
