Judith Ann Pygett Stoddard
Judith Ann Pygett Stoddard, 71, of Miramar Beach, Fla., died Friday, July 14, 2017, at her home in Miramar Beach, Fla.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 22, at Destin United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Barry Carpenter and Pastor Kim Cannon presiding.
She was born on March 27, 1946, in Alto Pass, the daughter of Avat and Velma Pygett.
She graduated as a registered nurse from Memorial Hospital of Springfield School of Nursing in 1966.
She married John H. Stoddard on Sept. 3, 1967, at Anna Heights Baptist Church in Anna. Judy and John had lived in Miramar Beach since 2004; prior to that time they lived in Atlanta, Ga.
She was an avid lover of cats, dogs and all wildlife. She and John enjoyed traveling extensively throughout Europe. She was a member of Destin United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. She suffered from Lewy Body Dementia for the past seven years.
She is survived by her husband John, of Miramar Beach, Fla.; a brother-in-law, Jim Stoddard and his wife, Debra, of Assumption; a brother-in-law Mike Pryor and his wife Linda, of Ramsey; three nieces; two nephews; 13 greats; and one great-great. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister-in-law, Janet Pryor.
