Lick Creek girls improve to 15-4 with recent wins
The Lick Creek School junior high girls’ basketball team won three games in recent action.
Following are game summaries:
Lick Creek 35, Vienna 23: Courtney Root had 15 points, 5 rebounds and a steal to lead host Lick Creek Monday, Jan. 11.
Erica Friebel had 8 points, 8 rebounds, an assist and a steal for Lick Creek. J.J. Ford had 8 points, 10 rebounds, an assist and steal.
Balyie Denny had 4 points, 3 assists, a rebound and 2 steals. Katy King had 2 points and a steal. Ashley Donaho had 2 assists.
Lauren George and Elle Basler each had a rebound and an assist. Hanah Schlenker had a rebound.
Lick Creek 48, Buncombe/Cypress 45: Root had 23 points, 9 rebounds, an assist and a steal to lead visiting Lick Creek Tuesday, Jan. 5. She made four 3-pointers.
Denny had 10 points, 5 steals, an assist and a rebound. Friebel had 9 points, 14 rebounds, 2 steals and an assist.
Ford had 4 points, 9 rebounds, an assist and a steal. Kennedy Sturgeon had 3 points, 3 assists and a rebound.
Lick Creek 52, Cobden 7: Root had 19 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals to lead host Lick Creek Monday, Jan. 4.
Friebel had 13 points, 9 rebounds and 2 steals. Ford had 12 points and 10 rebounds. King had 4 points, a rebound, assist and a steal.
Denny had 2 points, 4 assists and a steal. Ashley Donaho had 2 points, a steal and an assist. Schlenker and Basler had 2 rebounds apiece. Madison Root had a rebound.
Lick Creek improved to 15-4 overall.
