Longtime county business has received three major awards

<p class="p1">A longtime Union County business, Rendleman Orchards in Alto Pass, has received three major awards in Southern Illinois in the past 12 months.  </p><p class="p1">Most recently, Rendleman Orchards was honored as the business of the year at a Union County Chamber of Commerce gala.</p><p class="p1">Rendleman Orchards is a significant employer in the county and has shared in contributing to the economy and success of the area.</p><p class="p1">“It is nice to be recognized by the business leaders of Union County for our hard work and efforts over the years,” said Wayne Sirles, vice president of the orchard and fifth generation family member.  </p><p class="p1">“There are so many deserving businesses. We all contribute to the overall success in our county,” Sirles said in a news release.</p><p class="p1">Rendleman Orchards also was recently named as tourism attraction of the year by Union County Women in Business at its annual holiday banquet.  </p><p class="p1">The multi-generational family farm which has been operated for 143 years by the same family was also the previous recipient of regional business of the year recognition at the Carbondale Chamber of Commerce’s annual gala in January of last year.  </p><p class="p1">Rendleman Orchards is a fruit and vegetable grower which raises produce that is sold throughout the Midwest, bringing revenue back to the area and providing jobs to many over the decades. </p><p class="p1">“The support we have received from this region has been tremendous.  We could not survive without this type of support,” Sirles said. </p><p class="p1">“We appreciate the area and the people in it in which we do business.” </p><p class="p1">To learn more about Rendleman Orchards, visit their website at www.rendlemanorchards.com or like them on Facebook. </p>
