Make a resolution for 2010

The holiday season has come to an end. A few hours are still left in 2009.

And the 2010 election season has begun in earnest.

Voters could begin casting absentee ballots this week for the February 2010 primary election.

As Election Day draws ever closer, ever so quickly, we encourage Union County voters to make sure they are a part of the upcoming exercise in democracy.

The 2010 primary is going to be important at the local level for several reasons.

One: we will be electing county officials who will  be taking office at a crucial time in Union County's history.

Two: voters will decide the outcome of three important proposals which will determine funding for two of our communities and a local school district.

Should Union County have a new courthouse? Should the City of Anna be given an opportunity to generate critical funding? Should a property tax increase be approved in the Lick Creek School District?

Voters will have a say in the answers to those three questions in February.

Make a resolution: be a part of the process and have your say in the 2010 primary election.
