A musician with Union County roots is taking his music worldwide.

Robert Davis, the son of Don Wayne and Donna Davis, has seen some interesting times since moving to Los Angeles at the age of 17.

His band, called Revis, signed a record deal with Epic Records that seemed like a dream to the young musicians in the band, which was formed in Southern Illinois.

But they penned the record deal just weeks before Sept. 11, 2001.

That day’s tragedies shook up the music business world and Epic restructured, dropping most of its new artists.

Davis continued to work at his music while supporting himself through waiting tables and working at various studio jobs.

During this period, he met Bernard Fowler, a vocalist who had toured with the Rolling Stones since the 1980s.

Fowler was so impressed with Davis’s guitar skills that he hired him immediately to play shows from New York to Los Angeles.

Davis is currently playing guitar with six-time Grammy Award winner Lauryn Hill.

They have played shows in New York, Toronto, Moscow and Marseilles.

Davis is also developing his own band, LoLove.
